A. Nadine Pickthorn
"I consider myself very fortunate to live in Montana where I have the opportunity to study and paint the wildlife I love. It has been an exciting journey for me, learning about these amazing creatures that share their habitat with me. The sure-footed mountain goat which survives because it has the courage to live in rugged cliffs and crannies. The mule deer, thriving in the "badlands" where I've witnessed it seemingly vanish into the rough terrain. The magnificent bull elk in September, with antlers polished and head held high, herding his harem with an explosive energy. As I recall the years, filled with experiences such as these, I must bow my head before the Creator, in appreciation of His unsurpassed artwork. Each of which is truly a masterpiece. The need to share these treasured memories is strong deep within me and the best way I've found to do that is to "take you there" with my paintings. Thank you for your interest in my work. Nadine Pickthorn's uninhibited approach to creativity is demonstrated by her paintings on non-traditional surfaces such as feathers, leaves, agates, sandstone and wood. She enjoys continued success with her traditional artwork as well, with eighteen images in print, eight of which are sold out editions. Nadine's subject material varies from wildlife to Victorian ladies in all their finery. She has exhibited at the celebrated C.M. Russell Art Auction every year since 1985 and at numerous art shows around the U.S. and Canada.
